Now that we are doing monthly Bop Locals at the Heaton Park Sports & Social Bar in Prestwich, we’re back there again this Saturday 18th May. Phil Beckett’s guest DJ will be actor, comedian, drummer & massive music fan, John Thomson. John went down a storm at our ‘Not Quite New Year’s Eve’ party at Chorlton Irish Club last year so we’re very pleased he’ll be bringing his playlists to Prestwich.

His new album, Ships came out last month & is already getting some excellent reviews, as well as plenty of support from the national radio. BBC 6 Music’s top presenter, Marc Riley will be heading over to the Irish Club ~ after his radio show finishes at Media City, Salford ~ to introduce Sweet Baboo on stage! Marc has been championing Sweet Baboo on his show for blinkin’ AGES!!!

Sweet Baboo will be supported by Olympian, who just released their debut album last month.

Justin Moorhouse will be hosting the night, as always, and will be introducing the excellent Rob Rouse along with Kiri Pritchard-McLean & also Saints of Humour as support, plus a very special unannounced guest who we have to keep under wraps!! ;-)


The evening will start at 7pm with a pasty supper in the Lounge Bar and ends at midnight.

Bop Local Productions Next 4 Events:


Our next Bop Local Productions event will be in Prestwich on Saturday 20th April at Heaton Park Sports & Social Bar, for what has become our regular Bop Local in North Manchester. Phil Beckett will be welcoming back Martin Coogan as his guest DJ for the evening. Martin used to be the main man in The Mock Turtles and now produces bands at his recording studio ~ Vibe Studios ~ on Cheetham Hill Road. He is currently recording all the jingles for the Alan Partridge movie.
John O’Leary ~ our Prestwich early doors DJ ~ will be playing a load of top tunes to get the party started from 8.30-9.30pm.
